CURADORIA
Antonio Edmilson Rodrigues Martins
The gallery presents the urban development of Rio over its almost five centuries of existence, from before its founding to the present day. The changes in ways of building and living, the key players in the transformation of urban space, and the different strategies for making Rio de Janeiro a healthier city are the guiding threads of this journey through Rio, a city in transformation.

O Rio contemporâneo
Urban interventions intensified starting in the 1960s when Rio de Janeiro dressed as a modernist city, consolidating proposals that combined Agache and Le Corbusier. The Parque do Flamengo stood out for showing the bourgeois direction of the reforms with its continuity along the Perimetral avenue, which took the population of the Zona Sul to the summer areas without traveling through the city's past, passing by the Centro. An increasingly exclusionary Rio de Janeiro.
