Considered one of the city's largest urban parks, the history of Quinta da Boa Vista begins between the 16th and 17th centuries, a period in which the area was part of a sesmaria (land grant) belonging to Jesuit priests. Some time later, it became the private property of Elias Antônio Lopes and received this name because the owner built a mansion on the hill that existed on the site, thereby gaining a beautiful view over Guanabara Bay. With the arrival of the Portuguese Royal Family, the mansion was renovated and given over to be the Crown's residence. The former residence is what we know today as the Museu Nacional. In this work, we collected memories from participating students and their families about Quinta da Boa Vista, the Museu Nacional, and the Zoo.

Park with a lake, green lawn, bench, and modern building.Image description: This is a photograph of a park. On the left side, we see a lake with calm waters and some trees around it. In the center, there is a dark green lawn, where a concrete bench is located. On the right, there is a modern building with several windows. The sky is light blue and there are no clouds.
