ETE Adolpho Bloch - ETEAB/FAETEC is a space full of memories for those who have passed through and still pass through it, going beyond a technical high school, since it houses a range of extension programs, cultural training courses, and a rich collection of images. As for the view, it occupies a privileged position in the Rio de Janeiro landscape. Located at Avenida Bartolomeu de Gusmão, 850, in the São Cristóvão neighborhood, it is close to the Mangueira hill and has a view of the Maracanã Stadium, the Quinta da Boa Vista Municipal Park, and the Cristo Redentor.

The building was constructed in the 1950s, for administrative purposes. One characteristic of its architecture is the blue tiles that recall the same materials used in the original Maracanã construction. Historically, the space has always been linked to the development of public policies, having housed, in 1991, the Special Programs Extraordinary Secretariat under the command of the educator, politician, and anthropologist Darcy Ribeiro. Starting in 1996, when the administration was transferred to the Secretariat of Science and Technology at the initiative of Nilda Teves, governor Marcello Alencar handed over the space for the creation of the State's first technical school of communication, in 1998, with courses such as TV Production, Advertising, and Tourism, soon followed, in 1999, by the courses in Enterprises and Event Planning. The patron Adolpho Bloch was chosen for being one of the biggest communication entrepreneurs in Brazil and founder of the Manchete group, who passed away years before the inauguration of ETEAB, in November 1995.
On August 10, 1998, the institution opened its doors to students for the first time. The date became established as the school community's anniversary and, throughout its history, ETEAB has experienced moments that reinforced its identity as a space for education and civic formation. In 2016, the Ocupa Adolpho movement stood out as an example of youth leadership and the exercise of citizenship, when students and teachers came together to demand better learning conditions and administrative autonomy. In 2021, during the pandemic, the school celebrated its 23rd anniversary through livestreams and the sharing of digital memories to keep its community connected even from a distance.
Currently, the institution welcomes students from different regions of the state to take technical courses integrated with high school in the areas of Administration (ADM), Dance (DAN), Events (EVT), Tourism Guide (GTR), Hospitality (HPD), Audio and Video Production (PAV), and Advertising (PBL). In addition, there are extension projects such as Photographing My Neighborhood, Leiturando, Applied Discrete Mathematics, Mini-company (ADM), Cineclube Núcleo Olho na Cena, Afro-Brazilian Studies Center NEAB Sankofa, NEL - Language Teaching Center, Uranium Film Festival, among others.
All of this work is sustained by the commitment of every sector of the school to providing a quality, inclusive public education aimed at building a more ethical and critical society.
