Two people pose next to a panel with printed images.Image description: This is a photograph of two people posing next to a large panel with images printed on it. The person on the left is holding up the panel with their right hand, while the person on the right is smiling and looking at the camera. The panel has two main images: one on the left, in black and white, and another on the right, in color, showing a house with a red roof and blue windows, surrounded by green trees. Both people are wearing white t-shirts and jeans.

Today we come to tell the story of this place where many had only that spot to call home Known as Nera, with shacks made of wood built by those who had nothing to their name.

Besides the humility that was also there children playing with such joy When everything seemed fine cowardice arrived like a nobody

Innocence was taken from a child a story that stayed in our memories it left great commotion marking an entire generation

The neighborhood went through a change bringing hope to its people Trade and prosperity arrived for those who stayed there

Today the shacks are just a memory of a time left behind in history the landscape may have changed but Nera has its legacy
