In the lower corner, the word "Débarquement" is written.Para celebrar o Mês da Consciência Negra em 2025, o Arquivo Geral da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro selecionou seis fotos inéditas do seu acervo, em parceria com o Rio Memórias — organização social dedicada a promover a história e a cultura da cidade. As imagens retratam lugares fundamentais para a memória da presença negra no Rio, espaços que ajudam a revelar as camadas históricas que moldaram, e continuam moldando, nossa identidade.
A sequência de imagens começa pelo Cemitério do Largo de Santa Rita e pelo Cais do Valongo, testemunhos dolorosos do horror da escravidão. Segue pelo Largo da Prainha, pela Casa da Tia Ciata, pela Praça da Harmonia e Praça Onze, espaços das raízes que, até hoje, sustentam e enriquecem nossa cultura.
A mostra foi produzida pelo Rio Memórias, com apoio do MetrôRio e em parceria com a Secretaria Municipal de Cultura, e integrou o Calendário do Rio Capital Mundial do Livro 2025.
