Student: Maria Lúcia da Silva Class: 3014

The video presents the student's personal experience, in which she courageously and sensitively shares the countless challenges faced by women, especially Black women, in accessing and remaining in education. Drawing on her own life journey, the work highlights how women have historically been — and still are — relegated to care work, whether paid or unpaid, which directly impacts their opportunities for education and autonomy. Beyond gender barriers, special attention should be given to the racial dimension that runs through these difficulties, since Black women face even more obstacles due to the structures of racism operating in society. The lack of effective public policies, of access to youth and adult education, and of social support enabling women to balance work, study, and caregiving emerges as a reality that demands reflection and transformation. Thus, the video is not merely a personal account, but a powerful tool for raising awareness about inequalities of gender, race, and class.
