With over 15 years of existence, the star was founded by the association's president at the time, together with residents of Chatuba in the Complexo da Penha.
The structure was created with the goal of being a decorative object for the community during the Christmas season. Residents joined together with the president of the association, who supported the idea of building the monument. It consisted of an iron piece shaped like a five-pointed star, over 2 meters tall, with several sockets along the edges of the structure where the light bulbs were screwed in.
My experience was very meaningful, because it is a place where I find peace, since it's at the top of the community. I can see everything from here. It's a very calm place, and the view is amazing besides!
