The work carried out by the students consists of an interview with the historian and writer Julio Emilio Braz, an important figure in Brazilian literature. Throughout the conversation, fundamental issues are addressed, such as the role of education in social transformation, the impacts of structural racism, and the symbolic violence associated with ageism — discrimination based on age. Julio shares reflections on his own life story. The work not only offers a deep dive into the author's life and thinking, but also prompts a reflection on how inequalities run through educational, cultural, and social spaces, and how literature can be a tool for resistance, empowerment, and transformation.
